About us
Nasreen is a qualified radiographer with specialised training in foetal ultrasound and 4d ultrasound imaging. She graduated from the University of Johannesburg in 2006 and later went on to get a bachelor of technology degree in Radiography at the University of Johannesburg in 2009. She continues to gain knowledge and stay up to date with the latest medical developments by continuing education and attending workshops. She is also a wife and a mother to two beautiful children.
Our Work
A 4D ultrasound, also known as dynamic 3D ultrasound, is a medical imaging technique that creates a moving image of a fetus in real-time, in three dimensions (3D) with the added element of time (fourth dimension).
The procedure is similar to a traditional 2D ultrasound, where high-frequency sound waves are sent through the body and reflected back to the machine, which then creates an image. However, with 4D ultrasound, a series of these 3D images are taken in quick succession and put together to create a video-like image of the fetus’s movements.
The primary use of 4D ultrasound is to provide expecting parents with a better visualization of their baby’s features and movements. It can also be used to diagnose potential medical issues with the fetus, such as cleft lip or heart defects.
Pricing
- Maternal Ante Natal Checkup Diagnostic tests including blood pressure, glucose and urine test. Excludes scan. (You require a government clinic card prior to having this checkup. We don’t issue clinic cards to deliver at government facilities.)
NB: 4d scans can only be done from 20 weeks as part of a diagnostic scan and NOT cosmetic as the baby is too small and features are not clearly visible.
A 4d scan cannot be successfully achieved after 33 weeks, as the baby is quite large by now and the face is no longer visible due to the decrease in amniotic fluid and large size of the baby.
The ideal time for a 4d scan for cosmetic purposes ONLY is between 27 and 32 weeks.
Gender scans are done in 2d, as gender can successfully be determined in 2d and does not require 4d imaging.
Gender can be accurately determined from 16 weeks.
